My Beautiful Mother ... using a touch of Lemonade Fizz
Well today is my mum's birthday and won't incur her wrath by saying how old she is ...! I wanted to make her a floral card but without many layers as it needs to get to Ireland in one piece.
So I thought I'd have a play with my Lemonade Fizz soup stamps. The flowers have been made using one of the petals, repeat stamping around the centre and then lots of masking. I have used the leaves to fill in the gaps. All the edges were then "rough'd up" using a distress tool.
I started by watercolouring the images with distress inks but felt that the whole thing looked a little flat. To add some dimension back, I have added highlights using my Lyra Rembrandt polycolor pencils. Finally a few white highlights with a gel pen. The sentiment is made up of different rub ons (from different companies) that I have kept ... as we crafters seem to do.
The border strip has been made using the heart from the same stamp set, with the same colours. I think I have kept to my goal ... bold, floral and not too much fru fru ...! Now all I hope is that it made to Ireland in time.
So as a final note, "Happy Birthday Mum" and hope you have a wonderful day,
Lou
