Teapot card using Studio Light products

A while back, I created a MDF teapot storage using a wonderful kit from Studio Light at Personal Impressions, (see HERE) but before I stuck the sides together, I quickly drew around the MDF teapot piece to create a matching card. It was then decorated with the remaining papers and embellishments from the kit.

Here is a quick tutorial explaining how I created my shaped card ...

Step 1Using one of the MDF teapot sides, draw around the shape on to the cream card, twice. Cut our the teapots, covering one with a paper from the kit. Score the other design as per the photo. Place glue on the handle upto the score line, (this will form your hinge).

Step 2Create a tag slightly bigger than one of the image toppers from the kit; using the cream card. Punch a hole and add ribbon, distressing the edges of your tag for an aged look.

Step 3:  Adding some lace and ribbon to the front of your card and place the tag at a "jaunty" angle.

Step 4ļ»æ: Using all the elements from one of the decoupage pieces, create a topper. Place this on to your card front, covering a portion of the tag.

Step 5: Stamp the birthday sentiment from the Sweet Dixie Fantasy Floral Border and Panel set on to a embellishment from the teapot kit. Cut the sentiment in two and distress the edges.

Step 6: Place the first part of the sentiment on the tag and the other part on top of the ribbon/lace border.
Step 7: Finally, add additional embellishments from the teapot kit.

It was fab to be able to make a matching card because I now have a complete gift set. Luckily the teapot card fits inside an A5 envelope ... phew!

It's been a long week this week and I am very grateful that for once, time marched very quickly to the weekend. Boy oh boy am I looking forward to some chill time.

Have a great weekend and hope you get to "chill" too,

Lou
