'Bon Voyage' envelope card
Tonic Studios recently released a beautiful stamp range called 'Bunched Bouquet' and a range of envelope dies: Sweet Nothing Delicate Embrace. I thought it would be great to combine the two together to create my envelope card with matching wrap/fastner.
I began by creating my backing paper using the stamps and distress inks. I stuck to the same 2 colours but allowed them to dry between base and top layers.
Next I cut out the envelope base and using the internal dies, cut out my backing paper design. I then began adding the decoration. I created a postcard and on one edge stamped the sentiment strip "Just to say". and embossed in Nuvo Soft Lilac powder.
I then began adding more decoration using the following dies: petite vintage car, petite compass, Clarice upper & lower alphabets and garland fayre. All were cut in co-ordinating colours.
I added the 'Bon' part of the sentiment to the garland fayre bunting, adding a ribbon offcut behind. I did test (on several occasions) that my envelope would close before finally gluing in to place ... been caught out before!
I enjoyed making the card and think I need to make it again but in more vintage tones this time. What do you think?
Right, off to get my hair well and truly tamed as it's been too long. Also need to "touch up" my roots as am just not ready to embrace "the grey" just yet ... !

For the wrap, I used the same elements. I created a strip of card and folded it to fit the closed envelope and glued the ends. This is where I placed the topper to hide the ugly join.
