When the red, red robin comes hop hopping along ...
Sorry couldn't resist having that as my post title especially when you see which stamps I have used to create my Christmas card ...
I have used 'Red, Red Robin' clear stamp set from Polka Doodles (which is part of the Festive Christmas collection), coloured with distess inks and a few die cuts.
I stamped lots of the holly leaves on to one piece of card and painted them all at once which has helped created such a blended look to the leaves. The original goal was to create a frame with the images, cut it out, mount on to acetete to create a window. However, as is the way when you get 'in the zone', projects just design themselves and morph ...!
As a finishing touch, I just had to add the robin ... he's sitting amongst the holly and ivy leaves but still tasking centre stage.
I also added some of the "25" sentiments to cement the Christmas feel and snuggled them in amongst the foliage. Finally I add some ivy leaf diecuts, dusted with gold pan pastel, red Nuvo drops and red glitter stickles.
As my final, final touch, I stamped the 'Merry Christmas' greeting in the corner. I love how the card turned out with all the layers of leaves and might just have to give it ago again but this time as a frame .... ummm, watch this space.
Tonight is TV catch up night as I have an episode of Victoria to watch before the final Ripper Street airs, so will catch up with blogland tomorrow evening.
