Window in to Christmas
Oh my, oh my and oh my! The making process of my card went wonderfully but the videoing and photographing didn't fair so well! I know it's white(ish) and not being a professional photographer, might not get that to show but OMG ... I just can't get a decent photo!!! I've used my 'photo booth', I went outside when the sun was shining ... but alas, it still didn't work. I suppose I should say that the operator of the camera, couldn't make it work. Anyhow, the card is an off-white with accents of pumice stone distress ink ..... just in case your screen has something completely different pop up! Going to stop now and let the moment slide away and get on with sharing my Christmas card with you all.
I have used the wonderfully versatile 'Door/Window Frame die set' from Polka Doodles to create my French door and mullion windows. I have also cut away the card stock so that you could see through the windows, int o the scene behind.
I have added lace blinds to each window to add some quirky realism and then began building up the elements on the outside to create a winter scene. I have used the Polka Doodles Ltd 'Elegant Gate die' and the stamp sets 'O' Christmas Tree' and 'Red, Red, Robin', (both also from Polka Doodles Ltd).
I have embossed everything in white or shimmering pearl to add the snow effect, (which sadly my photo does not show). I have also decorated the inside of the card, so we had something to peek in at and added my Christmas sentiment.
I also videoed myself making the card, which highlights my decision process, and might even give better images to look at of my final project. Watch this space as I will try and improve upon my photographs .... am determined dot com! You can watch the video HERE.
Right gotta dash and give the house a quick once over, pop out and get some food as Luke & Rosie have decided to pop down for the day (& stay over). Happy dance as I think it's wonderful that the children (23 & 25), think of us as a 'go to' place ...
Have a wonderful day whatever your plans are,
Lou
