You are simply the best ...

I just can't seem to stray away from these stamps for too long ... they call me back like a "Sea Siren" although I don't really  resist their urge. I now want Nikky to make dies to match them so it speeds up my making process ... hint, hint Nikky ... ! I haven't played with my pan pastels for absolutely eons and challenged myself today to get them out and have some fun. This is what I came up with ...

I masked off the centre of my card and used  the pan pastels to create the background. I have over stamped with Versamark which removed the pan pastels and left a relief. Next I used a stencil and a rubber to create even more bubbles. I then went in again with the versamark and stamped some more images but this time embossed them. Next came the images and I have used a selection from both the Tropical Underworld and the Tropical Oceans stamp sets.

My images have also been coloured with pan pastels and I have mainly used the colours from the mixed media set. I apply the colour in a wet form using a water brush with a fine pointed round end and once dry go over with dry pan pastels.

To seal the images I either use cheap hairspray or alternatively will emboss with clear embossing powder. The latter can give the images a very vibrant appearence. In this instance it was the rather smelly cheap hairspray. I really enjoyed myself and must get my pans out more often. I am sooooooooo determined to do so that I've left on my desk so they are in my eye line for the foreseeable future.

Loads to do this Sunday as I start round one of the Christmas shopping and have decided to be brave and go to the "real" shops. I'm sighing to myself already as really can't stand all the queues.

Have a great Sunday whatever you are planning to do,

Lou

This card is absolutely magic! I love the way you have built the background with different techniques. I've never encountered pan pastels before but they give a wonderful result. This is such a well-deserved win. Congratulations!
