Oh so pretty ...
Eeeekkkkk, 2017 is almost upon us and whilst its good to embrace the new challenges and adventures that lie ahead, it's also very daunting at how quickly 2016 went ... blink and a month disappeared. One of my personal goals in 2017 is to try and keep a journal; not to complete it daily but at least weekly so I can look back through the year and actually remember what happened and when it happened. I think with the age of digital photos and being able to snap away at a whim, we sometimes forget the reasons why we took the photo and the memory it should become, (good, bad or indifferent). I want one of those remember vials/bowls, (like in Harry Potter), so I can pour the memory in and soak it all up again ...!
Okay this project is another blast from 2016 and is made using the Magic Garden Soup Stamps from Polka Doodles ...
I created a floral panel using the stamps, colouring them with distress inks. Next I inked the edges to blend the colours further. I layered the panel on to another piece of watercolour paper for dimension.
I cut a square aperture and placed it over the images with 3D foam and as they say, "at a jaunty angle!".
Next I stamped out some additional images, colouring them as previous images, cutting them out and adding to the front of my card over lapping the square aperture. The sentiment was then stamped around the outside, adding a few dots with a black pen.
I really fancy having a go at making another of these cards but varying the colours this time. Oooohhhh, who knows might even make a selection pack as a present ... watch this space ...
Better dash as need to get ready for New Years Eve - drinks need chilling, nibbles need putting out and want to make a dip or two (for the nibbles of course).
Happy New Years Eve everyone and see you all in 2017,
Lou
