Creativity takes courage

Blast it ...! I thought I was all organised and everything ready to go for my "Love to Create" project and now realise that this post should have been for last Sunday ...! Shakes head and mutters to herself ....

So ignoring my "boo boo", here is my project using MDF plaques to create a decorative home decor piece, coloured with my pan pastels. This was another item that PO failed to deliver to Nikky, (as a demo for the NEW Belle Papillon and Bella Fleur collection) ...

I wanted each plaque to be similar but also different at the same time. I have used all the same crafty items but the only difference was the colour. Each plaque was coloured with my pan pastels and sealed. I then added silver metallic pan pastel around the edges for added "bling". Next using the script stamp from the Belle Papillon stamp set, I over stamped the background with a complimentary ink. The next stage was to add the floral and butterfly elements. The floral elements has been both stamped directly on to each plaque (water coloured with pan pastels) and then stamped again on to water colour card and die cut. The butterflies have also been stamped directly on to the MDF, then on to acetate, embossed and cut out. Each plaque has the same elements but positioned differently. The one difference is that each plaque has differing sentiments, although they are stickers from the same Tim Holtz pack ... so similar but different ... now I'm starting to confuse myself ...

Blue Plaque

Wording:
Creativity takes courage
Everything has beauty
Live, create and tell the story

Pink Plaque

Wording
It's always the small things that make the bigger picture
Be amazed
Great things take time

Purple Plaque

 Wording
When nothing is sure, everything is possible
Fall in love with as many things as possible
Make it happen

The glasses were left over from Aaron's 18th birthday party from the photo booth I made. I've used my black (medium) pan pastel to alter the colours so that they fitted my scheme.

Although I have strung up the plaques, I haven't yet decided what to do with the string ends ... have a few ideas floating through my head: stampbord, possibly pegs, maybe quotes, more butterflies ...? So many ideas but one has not yet lodged itself in my brain. Any suggestions?

As I was busy yesterday celebrating my birthday, today is a ME day where I am going to do what I want. My birthday present to me. So on the cards is a little blog hopping, some Pinterest browsing (need decorating ideas for the bedroom) and some inky stamping. Ooohhhhhh I feel relaxed already.

Have a great day whatever you decide to do,

Lou
