A little bird in the tree ...
There's a new "anything goes" challenge over at Polkadoodles Challenges and as I said in an earlier post, I had coloured up lots of images from the Tropical Flowers and Tropical Paradise Flamingo stamp sets, so now is "making time" ...
I decided to use the Cherry Branch die to create a series of branches and then layered the flower and leaves on top. The sentiment is from Belle Papillion stamp set and the backing paper has been taken from the Belle Papillion 6"x6" paper pad.
Although the floral branch looked pretty, (even if I do say so myself), it needed "something" and that's when I remembered the wee lickle humming bird in the Tropical Flowers stamp set. I have coloured the bird to match the flowers and added some glitter to his wings ... which sadly does not show clearly in my photo.
Although I made the branch panel, it looked "blah" and just melted in to the card base, (even though I had a backing paper on the base), so I had a splash of inspiration ... sort of ... and have used the Ribbon Gift Frame die but extended it to create a backing panel. It did cause a few expletives but that was only because I forgot about which bits of the card needed to be on my plates and which bits should be hanging over ... doh!
Need to give you a bit of a heads up at this point, my floral obsession hasn't quite finished yet and I have lots more to share with you ... sorry!
Nothing planned this weekend as it's SATs next week and I want to be chilled, relaxed and calm for the children, so the week just flies by and instead of being THE focus, it's just an annoying blip.
Have a great weekend,
Lou
