May our thoughts and well wishes strengthen you.

Ali (Alison Whelan) from Tonic Studios HQ had a spare one of the "Caring Thoughts" die and stamp set and I quickly said "yes please". I know it is an older die but both the stamped sentiment and the die cut sentiment that caught my eye - both moving and thought provoking. Then when I received the Autumnal Sprigs stamp sets, I knew I wanted to combine the two ...

... which is obviously just what I did. I began by drawing a rectangle on white watercolour card and stamped in opposite corners, layering by masking off elements. I then decided to cut the straight lines, straight but go around the floral elements. When this was done, it looked a little weird and ungrounded. I was so cross with myself that I actually threw the panel away. Luckily the next day a flash of inspiration entered, appeared, apparated (from goodness knows where but I am grateful for it's visit), and realised that if I mounted the panel, I could then stamp behind on the backing card ...

Suddenly my sparse flower sprays looked fuller and natural, rather than over pruned. Hopefully you can see from the photo above what I am trying to explain. All the images were watercolored, (with, of course), my Nuvo Aquaflow pens.

I have stamped all the images with grey ink to give a softer feel to the line art.  Looking at the photographs now, if you changed the yellow for reds and winter, the floral images suddenly change to a winter/Christmas feel ... uuummmm, another thing to try and add to my "to do when I can" list!

What's on your crafty "to do" list? Do share and help add more to mine 😆
