Spellbloggers post - Floral Birthday

Whilst giving my crafting space a very well deserved spring clean ... in other words clearing out boxes of this and that, I came across 'odds & sods' of papers, in different sizes and colours. So instead of clearing, I now had to play with them ... they inspired me to create my next Spellbloggers post ...

In another box, I also came across some 7"x7" kraft card blanks, so that sorted out the size issue. I layered 2 of the papers and added faux stitching with a white gel pen.

To create my panels I have used the Venise Lace dies (from Spellbinders) and layered 2 together to create a larger panel. The sentiment panel was the smallest of the Venise Lace nesting dies and the sentiment is from the Tiny Sentiments collection.

Once I had all the layers in place, I began cutting out all the different flower dies from the Marisa's Bouquet set. They cut beautifully and didn't even need to emboss the designs as the detail shone through after just one pass. I began layering the flowers, adding a pearl gem to the centres.

My finishing touches were to add leaves and butterflies - both from the same die collection. A busy floral frenzy of a card and made even better than I used up some stashed away dp.

I'm playing with my Christmas stamps here, mingled in with some housework. Need the stamps to distract me as although the lads did look after the house whilst I was away, (and we came home to no surprises), it was .... uummmm ... a little grubby around the seams.

Have fun doing what makes you happy,

Lou
