Stamping with gilding flakes ...
Although I have had my Tonic Monthly card kit - 2nd to be released - a wee while, I have only recently had time to play with it properly. The kits come jam packed with goodies and there is oodles of crafty products to create with ...
For my first project I have made a tag card using nearly everything in the kit on my project ...
I began by creating the tag shape layering several of the embossed card that is in the kit. Next using the dies, I created a succession of layers: some to create edging strips, one as a background panel and then the final to act as a frame.
I have stamped lots of the elements, using the glue pen supplied, and once tacky, adding gilding flakes to create my outlines. I have then coloured in the holly and berry elements - again using the Nuvo Creative pens supplied and the Nuvo Berry Red crystal drops. Some of the corners have been stamped directly on to the die cut panels and others cut out to create embellishments.
Using a piece of the red embossed card, I created a buckle effect through the gold frame. Next I added a poinsettia and several of the stamped embellishment elements. As a finishing touch I added some Craft Perfect twine and then threaded some of the smaller bauble elements on to it. These are created with the embellishment dies included in the kit.
To tie all the elements together I have added some green bakers twine, more stamped and coloured corners, plus oodles of the smaller die cuts in co-ordinating colours.
I must admit that I am 'chuffed to bits' with the stamping using the gilding flakes and will definitely be using this technique again. What's your favourite stamping technique? Please share as I do love to try out new ideas,
Lou
