Circular acetate card - using Tonic Studios Sentiment dies

The first project I am going to share is one where I have used the Craft perfect project acetate. If you haven't had the chance to use the acetate before, I can heartily recommend it as the well known phrase goes "it does what is says on the tin" - well packet in this instance 😏

Some acetates are flimsy and you find yourself using copious layers to help your project stay 'afloat' - yep, pun intended - but not the Craft Perfect acetate. It is indeed construction weight and I had to pass it through my machine twice to get a crisp cut. After creating my circles for the base card, I joined them at the top however on the front layer added holes using my cropadile. Using the Nuvo Twine in French Blue, I loosely threaded around to create the look of the rope you use on buoys.

Next using the 'Congrats Banner', (which I cut 4 times), I layered together to create my lifebuoy. In the gaps I have used Nuvo Twine in Chilli Red to create the two colours you often see. I have deliberately kept the folds to add depth. This was then added to my card front. Now the fun part, the decorating ...

I die cut the 'Father' sentiment 3 times, layering on top of each other: covered with Empire Blue  Nuvo Hybrid ink, embossed with Nuvo clear detail powder and then added a subtle white shadow. This was placed on top of one of the stamped images.

The 'Here's to you' sentiment is also from the 'Congrats Banner Die & Stamp set' but I thought it would look great cut out and mounted to a pair of stamped sun glasses.

The 'Grand' is from the Family Sentiments collection and comes with it's own mount. It has been cut in co-ordinating colours. All the stamped images have been stamped using Metro Grey hybrid ink and coloured with my Nuvo Aqua Flow pens.

I have a video coming out shortly showing how to create the lifebuoy using the banner dies, so watch this space. Whilst the videoing bit wasn't tricky, the editing part, not so ...!

Have a great day everyone and wrap up warm as it's freezing out there,

Lou
