Wonderfall Waterfall Madness! New Tonic Studio dies with 'Wonderfall' kinetic movement ...
Now I have to be honest and say, I do not normally make waterfall cards to send to people - do make them with the children at school as they adore the movement - but I had real fun using/playing with the new Wonderfall Waterfall dies. Ideas over flowed and I have used them in different ways to show their versatility, (watch this space/blog), but my first project is using the dies as they were designed for ... with a wee twist 😉
I had already thought of an oriental theme using the 'Bouquets & Banners Wonderfall die set' but after die cutting all the oval shapes, they didn't appear oriental enough (for me), hence the black matting panels. I measured the width of the mechanism and height of the largest die to make a mat measuring 8.5cm x 8cm.
After layering the panels, the black inside then looked very stark, so I just had to decorate the inside too. Using the next die edge down, married with the smaller decorative detail, I created my mats. The banner is included with the die set and I have used the mat layer, added the detail to create a perfect mount for my Will's Hand die sentiments.
The back ground was created using the Blocked Parquet Framed Screen die, cut 3 times to make my backing design. I even used it to decorate the inside of my card too ...
To cover up my mechanism workings, I have used the banner die again - cut in black - covered the edges by creating a medallion from smaller decorative die, mounted on to black card and then finished with a button.
To pull the mechanism down, I threaded some gold ribbon through the shank of a button, threaded it through the hole on the tab, knotted it at the back and voila a sturdy but decorative pull.
Welllllll ......? Did you succumb and get the dies? You won't regret your purchase as they are so versatile. I already have some shaker card designs in mind using the layering dies.

I've made a waterfall card once, many many years ago at a stamping class, I may have to try it again! Thanks for the inspiration and for sharing this week at my papercrafters' linky party!
