Woodless Watercolour Pencils or Distress Crayons? A Crafter’s Comparison

I’ve been playing with my Personal Impressions (Pi) Woodless Water Colour Pencils lately, but it made me realise I hadn’t touched my Distress Crayons in ages! So I dug them out and had a creative throwback session … Both tools are water-reactive, versatile, and fun for card-making and journaling — but they behave differently on paper/card/art journals. Let’s take a closer look at each, and see what makes them unique.

Colouring and creating backgrounds with Nuvo Crystal drops - TONIC THROWBACK THURSDAY

Morning everyone and Happy Thursday. So what have I chosen to share with you this TONIC THROWBACK THURSDAY and believe me I have a few projects to choose from! After much 'faffing' and indecision, I'm sharing a card where I have used Nuvo drops through a stencil and also to paint my images. This card was originally made for Tonic's 1st birthday on Hochanda in April! A wee while ago ...

I began by die cutting the heart from the Floral Affections Today's the Day set from Craft Perfect glitter card in Welsh Gold. Next with Auburn Pear & Moroccan Red Nuvo Crystal drops, I put them through the Seamless Circle stencil, blending the colours. It created such a wonderful effect on the glitter card.

Whilst the heart was drying, I stamped & embossed the Delicate Details stamps in Nuvo Gold Enchantment embossing powder, colouring the images with Moroccan Red, Olive Branch & Auburn Gold Nuvo Crystal Drops. After drying & being cut out, I mounted them on the heart. Ooohhh before I forget, the sentiment is from the Delicate Detail Sentiment stamp set

'Mother' was cut first in Jet Black and then given a glitter shadow and added to the card front. As a finishing touch, I used the Auburn Pearl drops on parts of the backing panel from the same set.

Have you used your Nuvo Crystal Drops in different ways? Would love to know how and what you created, so please a comment below, with a link so I can pop over to see your project.

Thanks for popping over and see you all on Thursday,

Lou
