Mermaid to be Friends - new Tonic Studios Mermaid with Love dies
Jodie Johnson is back on Hochanda today launching the new Mermaid with Love dies from Tonic Studios. This is a huge collection with 2 large layering sets and 4 different sentiment dies and although they have mermaids within the collection, it can be used in different ways to just become an ocean/sea themed project. I've taken one of the larger sentiment dies to create my shaker card with a difference ...
Surprisingly the only shaker element to my card is the central panel. I have coloured the sentiment die cut with my Nuvo Diamond Hybrid Inks which work seamlessly and blend superbly too. The shaker part is full of new Nuvo confetti, glitter and sequins which are due to be released in February, so you are getting a wee look at them before their official launch. There is also a couple of the new Craft Perfect papers/card too ...
The other smaller circular apertures have just been created to be windows, where you can have a sneak peek in at the wonderful sea creatures and shells.
As a finishing touch, I have die cut the 'Oceans of Love' sentiment several times and just used the fish border to decorate the front of the card. I wanted to create the illusion that the fish were swimming in and among the apertures.
Such a fun collection of dies which layer up beautifully but with a change of colours, could easily be used on a male themed card; especially if you changed the centre panel to be either 'Oceans of Love' or 'Make a Splash!'Ohhhh, given myself another idea ....
