Starfish wishes & Mermaid kisses - NEW Mermaid with Love die collection from Tonic Studios

Today, Jodie Johnson will be launching the NEW Tonic Studios Mermaid Love die collection as a 'One Day Special (ODS)' on Hochanda @ 6pm. It is a wonderful mix of mermaids and ocean themed dies, plus sentiments - a definite something for everyone collection. So I thought I'd pop over to my blog and share one of my projects for today's launch ...

... a decorative page for a memory book

To create my page, I grabbed the Memory Book 1 dies, cut the 2 largest layers but before layering them up, the backing layer has been coloured, first with Nuvo Hybrid Inks - Laguna Bay & Dried Oregano - then to add a 'sheen', Aquamarine embellishment mousse.

Using 2 of the decorative layers, I created my mount - coloured with Toasted Almond and Pure Platinum mousse - placed in the centre of my page, adding a further circular panel with 3D foam pads. Next came the decorating ...













Marina and all shell elements have been coloured with Nuvo Hybrid inks and my trusty finger daubers. I have backed Marina on to card, (before colouring her) so I had areas to place 3D foam, so that she stood out from the shells.





The sentiment I chose to use, is also included in the collection but actually reads 'Mermaid kisses & Starfish wishes' however to ensure the sentiment was 'just perfect' for my layout, I separated the words, placing each part where it suited my design.





Although the decoration flows over the circular inner panel, it has not been glued in place so that you can slide your photograph underneath. As a finishing touch, I covered all the elements with a Nuvo Sparkle pen plus added a few some Nuvo glitter drops.
