A mini album made using the NEW keepsake from Tonic Studios - Life's Journey

On Wednesday, Jodie Johnson launched the new Life's Journey Keepsake Collection of dies from Tonic Studios on Create & Craft, which compliment the existing memory book dies. It was a huge success and sold out within the hour! I was very lucky and managed to play with the dies making samples for the show - well it was meant to be shows. For one of my samples I made a travel journal themed album with a male slant ...

For the main front cover, I have created pockets to hold maps, tickets, schedules etc and also used the new slider dies to create tag pockets. I've kept the decoration simple using different travel dies from Tonic Studios and papers that coordinated with the theme. The paper and card used are primarily from the new Woodland Walk Collection. Finally, I added an acetate cover to protect both the front and back covers.

On the inside of the cover, I created more pockets but have only used one of the base dies and one sheet of paper to decorate. They over lap each other to give the illusion that I have used more supplies than was actually the case. Let me in to a little secret ... the lined papers are all from school exercise books and grunged a little ...

In the lower pockets, I have again used the slider dies to create additional pockets for my tags. However rather than using the sentiments from the collection, I have elongated the tags to leave them plain on the top.

I also made a notebook using the dies from the collection and secured all the pages with elastic to make it easier to add and remove pages. In other words, a never ending notebook ...!

The first page was made using different layers from the collection to create simple flaps on the top and bottom. These have been decorated with off cuts of paper and smaller layers from the Flora Memoria dies, which are designed to fit perfectly with Life's Journey keepsake dies.

It was fabulous to play with these new dies and did I say before, you can make 3 different sized albums - I bet I didn't. My album is the largest at 7"x 7" but you can also make a 6" x 6" plus a 5" x 5". When you get your dies, what size will you make first?

Many thanks for reading down this far as it is a rather long, photo heavy post.

Happy crafting,

Lou

What a wonderful travel book. Of course I adore all those flips and pockets. I thought you stitched this at first but then realized it was the die. Very nicely done! Thanks for joining the challenge at Mini Album Makers.
This is magnificent Lou, I have to confess I am very envious as I missed out on this die set. How lucky to be on the creative team and have had chance to play before launch day. You've created mini magic with this set leaving us all wishing we could take a closer look first hand. Thank you for sharing over at Mini Album Makers and joining in with our April Challenge.
