Tonic Studios Sleeve die and glitter
A wee while ago, Tonic Studios released a wonderful set of sleeve dies which although were designed to act as sleeves/holders for envelopes/cards/albums, they can in fact be used for so much more. I've used 2 of the dies from this collection to create a card and what's more, I 'manned up' and used glitter ...
I began by die cutting two Oasis of Roses die in white card - both inner and outer edges - then added these to a self adhesive sheet. I cut around the die shapes and then carefully added the Blue Sapphire glitter on to the roses and Prickly Pear glitter on to the leaves. I masked off different areas to make the glitter didn't travel too much. Next I snipped in to one of the design to give me a selection of leaves and roses, and the other design, I trimmed to make a rectangle which would eventually sit behind my central sleeve.
I created the central sleeve for my card using the Array of Hearts sleeve die by cutting the outside edge in to my matting layer, (Craft Perfect Denim Blue A4 card), and now it stayed within that layer. I carefully stuck this down to my card base, leaving the sleeve part 'glue free'. Gently, I add the rectangle backing design, from the glittered Oasis of Roses, underneath this band. Now came the tricky part ... removing the sticky backing! I started at the top, made sure it was straight and then slowly pulled the backing tape away.
The decorative part of the Array of Hearts was also cut twice and overlapped at each end to give a continuous design. I then added my strip sentiment in black. The extra glittered roses and leaves were tucked under and around the sleeve to give the illusion of 'fullness'.
Did you know that you can now purchase all the supplies needed to make this card directly from Tonic Studios themselves? Click on the thumbnails below, to be taken to the shop where you can find all the items.
Right I'm off out before to walk my dog before the rain arrives. Have a great weekend everyone,
