Mini album & notebook made using Tropical underworld & Tropical Oceans clear stamp sets from Polkadoodles

Blooming hot here today and I am melting. I sincerely applaud everyone who has to work outside in these conditions or alternatively has to wear a uniform of any description. Watching the engineers working in the village in their hi vis tops & trousers, hard hat and heavy duty boots, I stopped my whinging as I walked by them wearing shorts and a vest top ....

A long while ago, I began making a mini album and matching notebook using one of my favourite Polkadoodles stamp sets ever - Tropical Underworld and Tropical Oceans. These stamps, although 2/3 years old, are still bang on trend and incredibly versatile. They are part of the Ocenia Collection which includes A5 stamp sets, DL stamp sets, MDF embellishments and metal charms. The album is still a work in progress but I'm going to share what I have made so far ...

All the backing papers have been created using the stamp sets - Tropical Oceans & Tropical nderworld - with my distress inks, on to smooth water colour card. Below are a selection of some of the papers I created ...

The front cover has a bit of everything on it as I just couldn't stop using the stamps and probably for some people, a little too cluttered or overkill but when I wanted to sue everything and showcase everything, I couldn't stop myself. I've also added elements from the Wish You were Here and Ocenia stamp sets too. All the little MDF embellishments are also from Polkadoodles. You can check them out HERE.

I have also created an acetate sleeve to protect the front cover and it's attached to the spine but held securely in place. Now I say held in place but ... I did add 2 button type of decorations to hide my glue but now I really do not think they work so have removed them. Decisions, decisions, decisions as to what to replace them with ...

Did  say how much I love these stamps? Seriously I really do and before putting them away, couldn't resist making 2 postcards to sit inside my album. I have used the Wish You Were Here stamp set on the reverse - whoops no photo to share - which allows you to add all the postcard bits & bobs, ready for sending.

Now that's a quick over view of the album so far as I still have loads to finish .. another of my favourite crafting parts ... the faffing! Once I have a few more bits completed, I'll share all the different pages - flips, flaps, pockets etc - with you all.

Right I'm off to see if I can wrestle the fan away from the dog, which I know won't be an easy task. What are your strategies to keeping cool? Please share as would love a bank of ideas to go to in these extreme temperatures.

Until next time,

Lou
