Colouring die cuts - Tonic Studios Oasis of Roses sleeve die
Hi everyone. It's been a wee while but I've been beavering away in the background on lots of new stamping projects and they are quite "spooktacular" even if I say so myself. All will be revealed here on my blog on Monday, so I'd love it if you'd pop over and see what crafty fun I've been having.
Today I'm sharing a card that I have coloured with my Nuvo Creative pens but it's not an image but a die cut ...! If you didn't know, I love to cut the majority of my die cuts in white card and then add my own colour to them. It started because a wee while back I had a project in mind but couldn't then find the right shade of card that I wanted to use. The project I am sharing today is the Oasis of Roses sleeve die from Tonic Studios ...

I began by creating a tent fold card as I felt it was the best way to show off the wonderful die cut. I have cut out the backing plate twice, adding the detail to one of the layers. Both were stuck together and next I grabbed my Nuvo Creative markers and began colouring up a storm.
My sentiment is from the Memory Book Range called "Photos & Filmstrip" which has been cut in to black card, next created a pennant design and then stapled to white card. To tie in the colours, I have twisted Craft Perfect Mauve Purple bakers twine around the sentiment and then added to my card with 3D foam pads.
My final finishing touch was to add some Nuvo sequins in Periwinkle Blue & Diamond over the image plus a few flower centres using Nuvo glitter accents Candy Kisses.
Do you colour your die cuts? If you do, what is your preferred method? I'd love to swap ideas and also try something new, so leave a comment below sharing your ideas and tips.
