Everything's Pretty Perfect with Love 2 Create Challenges
It's been a long while since I joined in with the talented DT over at Love 2 Create Challenges and if you have not seen both the DT's work and the superb crafters that enter, I strongly recommend that you pop over for a nose.
For my project I have used the Pretty Perfect, Brighter with You & Perfect Wishes sentiment & frames stamp sets from Polkadoodles - all part of the Pretty Perfect Collection. I have loosely and I do mean loosely coloured everything, sploshing, splatting and dabbing the water colour inks around.
I created the background using the frames from the Perfect Wishes sentiment & Frame stamps, layering and making the frames to create an "L shaped" background. This was then coloured with different blue and greens using my Nuvo Aqua Flow pens. I then splattered white gesso blobs over the background to add highlights.
The flowers and leaves were stamped, cut out,& again coloured with the same loose technique, Once dry, I layered them all in to one corner.
The sentiment is from the Perfect Wishes frames & sentiment set and I thought it was just perfect for my composition. As a final finishing touch, I splattered some glitter accents using my Nuvo Glitter pen over the whole design & then added some sequins.
It was really great fun just to colour without thinking and let the inks flow in to one another creating their own shadows and highlights. Do you have a favourite way to colour with water colour paints or inks? Would love to know what techniques you use in your crafting.
