Getting inky with Polkadoodles Creative Stencils ...
Whilst tidying up my craft space the other day, I came across some backgrounds I had created a wee while ago. These were created with Nuvo shimmer powders & Nuvo mists. Although dark, I had a plan, (sort of ish), so grabbed my Polkadoodles Creative stencils and began playing ...
I began by adding dots using the Accents Stencil with Spanish Sangria (Nuvo Hybrid ink) randomly over the background to break up the sea of blue. A quick blast of the heat gun and next, using clear ink, I stenciled the Tweet Branch stencil all over, covering the ink with gold embossing powder.
I must admit I really do like the effect. To make sure my birds 'popped' - creatively not literally - I have used a fine black micron pen to add shadows & a Posca white pen to add highlights. As I knew which sentiment I wanted to use, I have doodles a few music notes on to my background.
How do you use your stencils in your cardmaking? Please share your ideas as I love trying out new techniques ... especially if they are a wee bit messy!

The sentiment is from Polkadoodles Heart Sing clear stamp set and I have stamped each of the sentiments separately, mounted on to different card, rearranging them to create an elongated phrase. As a final finishing touch, I have added a few sequins and feathers.
