Upcycled project for Love 2 Create challenges with Polkadoodles

It's another new challenge over at Love 2 Create with Polkadoodles and this month I have created a journal page. Gonna be honest, my final page was not my original plan. When I created my first page, it ended up an awful mess: jumbled images, dire colour choices & no cohesion. I was just about to bin it, when a momentary "flash of inspiration" appeared! Instead, I cut the piece up in to 3 parts and then mounted them on to a black journal page instead. What did I have to lose? I was going to throw it anyway ...

MY PROJECT
Cutting up my original project wasn't hard, as I really, really, really didn't like it one bit. After mounting the 3 pieces on to black card, I then added them to a new black journal page.

I roughly worked out where each piece was going to go and using Fireworks 1 & 2 clear stamps, stamped on to the black journal page with my Distress Oxide inks.

I added the pieces and doodles around using   stencil & gold Sakura Calligrapher pen. Next I added my sentiments - from Super Sentiments clear stamps - colouring around the edges with the same gold pen.

My original images were all based around circles. I filled each circle with stamped images & peeled paint oxide and then water coloured using Koi Brush pens. A few more circles and doodles were added but because my base layer was "intense", the original designs started to disappear.

As a finishing touch, I added extra stamped butterflies and "stuff" I found in my "don't throw it away, just in case" box.

I'm now quite happy(ish) how the design turned out and think will revisit other pieces I'm not 100% happy with, to see what I can do with them.

FLORAL FIREWORKS
In my project I have used the new clear stamp release from Polkadoodles called Floral Fireworks collection. You can catch the HOCHANDA shows below - fast forward to 3:01:55

If you haven't subscribed to my YouTube channel, please do. I am adding new content on a weekly basis & being a subscriber means you can be aware when new projects arrive. You can check out my channel HERE.

Right, can't put it off any longer ... got to clear up my craft area. There are bits everywhere: stamps, inks, stencils, paper pieces from die cutting, pens .... yadda, yadda, yadda. Can you tell how enthusiastic I am, not! I'm not a housework person, love it when done but need to motivate myself to do it. Do you have any tips to help with my motivation? The Hinch thing didn't work either; loved the idea, but not my thing.

Have a great Sunday everyone and see you soon.
