Upcycled materials & Nuvo products with Susan's Garden Club dies
Recently I took part in a blog hop celebrating Susan's Garden Club dies. You can see my original blog hop post HERE.
For my projects I decided to show that you can create the flowers and foliage from anything and everything. The card below has been made using kitchen towel with Nuvo shimmer powders and mists..
I have made a video showing all the cards created for the blog hop but if you just want to see this one, fast forward to 11:46
MY PROJECT
My goal with the dies was to try using different materials to show how truly versatile each of the dies are and also how they can be used in different genres - if you wanted. For this card, I have used kitchen towel coloured with Nuvo shimmer powders & mists.
I began by misting the kitchen towel with water, then a fine dusting of the shimmer powder in Violet Brocade & Lilac Waterfall. To disperse the powder even further, I added a layer of Nuvo Mica Mist in Violet Lustre & then added sparkle with the new Nuvo Sparkle Sprays - Lavender Lining.
I have used the smaller flowers, that would normally form the centre, as confetti around the other main flowers
What unusual materials have you used with your dies? Please share as I think it's wonderful if we can extend out crafty products as much as possible.

I have used the Elegant Arches Pocket die to create my background and given the cut away a drop shadow. Adding the shadow also gives larger gluing areas too.
The flowers were created from 4 layers of the kitchen towel and finished with a heart in the centre. I decided to use a sentiment that I felt complemented the flowers.
