Using designer papers with Susan's Garden Club dies
Recently I took part in a blog hop celebrating Susan's Garden Club dies. You can see my original blog hop post HERE.
For my projects I decided to show that you can create the flowers and foliage from anything and everything. The card below has been made using rice paper & designer papers, plus a selection of different Nuvo products ...
MY PROJECT
My goal with the dies was to try using different materials to show how truly versatile each of the dies are and also how they can be used in different genres - if you wanted. For this card, I have used rice paper & designer papers.

To see all the dies in the Susan's Garden Club, pop over to Tonic Studios shops.
I have made a video showing all the cards created for the blog hop but if you just want to see just this one, fast forward to 03:59
MY PROJECT
My goal with the dies was to try using different materials to show how truly versatile each of the dies are and also how they can be used in different genres - if you wanted. For this card, I have used rice paper & designer papers.
For my project I thought I'd combine designer papers foliage and rice paper flowers. I love the delicate feel the rice paper gives to the flower petals. The flowers have been made using the Helleborus/Christmas Rose die set, with the leaves being cut from Holly & Berries die set.
RICE PAPER - The rice paper I purchase comes on a roll, so after cutting off an A4(ish) piece, I began colouring it. First I spritzed water and then began adding Candy Bomb & Catherine Wheel Nuvo Shimmer powder. To set the shimmer powder, I have added a layer of Oriental Fuchsia Mica Mist. My finishing touch was a liberal spray of Blush Burst - one of the NEW Sparkle Sprays.
I have shaped the leaves with a ball tool and added them to the circular aperture, on top of the Under the Mistle toe wreath. I decided to use the same gold Craft Perfect card, Golden Satin, (that I used to create the wreath), for the sentiment.
Do you ave a favourite flower? I'm not sure I could name just one but do love the smell of lilies as they open. Their scent fills a room - natures air freshener.

Can't quite believe that the first week of December has nearly gone and I have done nothing for Christmas this year! I suppose I better get started soon.
