Using rice paper, upcycled baby wipe & Nuvo products with Susan's Garden dies

Recently I took part in a blog hop celebrating Susan's Garden Club dies. You can see my original blog hop post HERE.

For my projects I decided to show that you can create the flowers and foliage from anything and everything. The card below has been made using rice paper & an upcycled baby wipe with a selection of different Nuvo products ...

To see all the dies in the Susan's Garden Club, pop over to Tonic Studios shops.

Alternatively, pop over to Craftstash UK/US store

I have made a video showing all the cards created for the blog hop but if you just want to see just this one, fast forward to 08:35

MY PROJECT
My goal with the dies was to try using different materials to show how truly versatile each of the dies are and also how they can be used in different genres - if you wanted. For this card, I have used rice paper & an upcycled baby wipe. Below, I have listed the colours used on each.

RICE PAPER - The rice paper I purchase comes on a roll, so after cutting off an A4(ish) piece, I began colouring it. First I spritzed water and then began adding Candy Bomb & Catherine Wheel Nuvo Shimmer powder. To set the shimmer powder, I have added a layer of  Oriental Fuchsia Mica Mist. My finishing touch was a liberal spray of Blush Burst - one of the NEW Sparkle Sprays.

UPCYCLED BABY WIPE - The dark green on the wipe was from a previous project - Evergreen Fern Aqua Flow pen. Next, I added some Mica Mist in Olive Crush & Beryl Swirl. To add some sparkle, I used Apple Spritzer sparkle spray. This is the lighter green you can see on the baby wipe.

The decorative panel cut away in to my card blank is from Rising Blossom Double Strip die set. I cut away the detail directly in to the A6 card blank and using outer dies, created the backing panel & frame.

The flowers have been made using Pom Pom Dahlia die set. The dies cut a selection of different sized layers, which you place inside each other. As a finish touch, I have added some stamen & a frill.

The leaves are from Beauty Berry Bush die set, cut from the upcycled baby wipe. The smaller flowers are from the same set, cut from the rice paper. I have deliberately kept the sentiment simple, cut from Craft Perfect Crimson Silk.

GIVEAWAY
There is still a giveaway running until 9th December  to win a flower making tool bundle ( embossing tools, adhesives, accents, paper, scissors). For your chance to win leave a comment HERE

I thoroughly enjoyed using the dies with different materials. It's shown me that you can create beautiful flowers, if you have the right tools.
