Creating backgrounds using focal stamps - featuring Bird's Together from Polkadoodles
Another Friday has "appeared" from nowhere and I'm typing my post trying to play back my week. Slightly worried as the days seem to have merged in to one long blob & figuring out what I did when, is a wee bit of a struggle. I love being busy but not so busy that I can't appreciate what I have done/achieved. Do you ever find yourself muddle like I am?
Whilst organising my stamps in to collections, themes etc, I came across the "Birds Together" stamp set from Polkadoodles & had to play. In fact I stopped everything, grabbed my inks & put my idea down on to a card before I forgot.
MY PROJECT
I began by stamping one of the bird images in to the centre of a 10cm x 14.5cm card layer. Next using the other bird in the collection, I stamped this image below & above. I kept stamping the images until my card was full.
I've coloured my birds with Nuvo Creative Pens but would still be as effective with pencils or watercolours - actually whatever is your colouring preference.
The sentiment was stamped & embossed on to a piece of vellum & placed vertically down the card. My stamped layer was added to an A6 card blank & a few sequins, confetti & drops added as a finish.

NUVO CREATIVE PENS
I have used the Nuvo Creative Pens to colour the birds. These are alcohol markers. The lovely people at Tonic have given me a 10% discount to share with you all which is valid against any Nuvo purchase in the Tonic stores. Click the store links below and the discount will be taken off at checkout.
Right today is meant to be a tidy up day ... struggling with enthusiasm for this task if I'm honest. What are your plans today? Hopefully a little bit more exciting than mine.
