Colouring die cuts with Nuvo hybrid inks & Nuvo Aqua Flow pens

The wonderful Mermaid to Love dies from Tonic Studios are on offer this week in the WednesDIE Deals - previous post HERE - and to prove that I do really use the dies on a regular basis, I have created 3 new projects.

The focus of the projects was to show the cards can be cut in white and then coloured with your inks, aqua flows, markers etc. I am colouring my die cuts with a range of Nuvo products ...

PROJECT ONE

For this card, I really wanted to showcase that although the dies are circular, you can make different shaped cards too, using all the elements. I suppose I was trying inspire everyone to think of different ways to extend their use.

All the elements have been coloured with either Nuvo Hybrid cube inks or Nuvo Aqua Flow pens. I have "snipped" in to the designs to create my embellishments too.

PROJECT TWO

Again, I wanted to push the dies out of their "comfort zone". I have matted and layered them in a different way but still only used die cuts from the Mermaid to Love collection. All the die cuts have again been coloured with Nuvo hybrid inks & Nuvo Aqua Flow pens.

Layering the outer circles in arcs helps create the illusion of waves. Also placing the mermaid & fish amongst my waves, I think helps too. What do you think?

PROJECT THREE

Well it simply had to be done ... a shaker card! I love a shaker card but prefer that the aperture part is not rammed to the gunnel's. My reason, 9 times out of 10, I decorate the  panel behind & do not want this to completely disappear.

Surprise, surprise, I have used my Nuvo Aqua Flow pens to add colour to the original white die cuts

The card has been embellished using lots of the smaller die cut elements & layered to appear as if they are on the sea bed. Are you a shaker card fan? What's your favourite embellishments to use?
