Custom postcards using Polkadoodles Collage clear stamps plus NEW display gadget!

I have been becoming quite ruthless with my time recently. I have been making sure I create times for me to play with all my crafty stash. Not because of DT or TV commitments but because I just wanted to stamp, get inky or even colour.

After a fabulous afternoon lost in stamping heaven, I created 6 custom postcards using my Polkadoodles Vintage Collage clear stamp sets. Sorry one card is missing from this photo ...

Now how do I display them? Well, my hubby & his 3D printer came to the rescue ...

Below are all the individual postcards I created, with a brief description. Any supplies used, are listed at the bottom of this post.

POSTCARD 1

I have used a mixture of Polkadoodles Vintage Text & Queen for a Day clear stamps to create a random background. All the images were coloured with Sakura Koi Brush Pens & colour let to "bleed". I have added some white doodle lines & highlights as a finish. The sentiment is from Polkadoodles Sentimentals paper kit.

POSTCARD 2

Using Polkadoodles Vintage Ephemera, Vintage text & Flower Collage clear stamps, I created my background. Images have again been water coloured with Sakura Koi brush pens & white pen highlights added - Sakura Gelly Roll pen. As a finishing touch, I added 3 butterflies in similar colours. Again the sentiment is from the Sentimentals paper kit.

POSTCARD 3

This postcard was made by just stamping part of the Flower Collage clear stamp & loosely colouring the images with Sakura Koi brush pens. I stamped the image on to a Polkadoodles vintage journal card. Yep, sentiment from same collection as previous postcards.

POSTCARD 4

Using Polkadoodles Queen of Hearts collage stamp, I have again only stamped part of the image. Can you guess what I used to colour the images with? Sakura Koi Brush pens ... hee, hee, hee! I have added a little extra decoration using the ubber cool zip stamp from Vintage Ephemera clear stamp set. Sentiment is from Sentimentals paper kit, mounted on to black card.

POSTCARD 5

I have stamped a multitude of images straight on to a journal card. The colours of the journal card also dictated what colours I would use with the stamps. However after I had finished, I decided it needed a "pop of colour", so added a few butterflies colouring them in blue. All images stamped with distress inks.

POSTCARD 6

Using the Wings & Things Collage stamp, I have again only partially stamped the image. This time I have coloured the image with my Lyra Rembrant Polycolour pencils. I haven't added anything else as I love this image and wanted it to be the main focal point.

MY NEW DISPLAY GADGET

I was showing off my makes to my husband - he is brilliant and always shows enthusiasm even if I am interrupting a match or TV programme - but was moaning about how can I display them. Mumbling under his breath about "leave it with me", I went back to my craft area to tidy up. I actually translated this as "lovely but I'm in the middle of something". How wrong was I?

After a lot of whirring printer noises, a bit of drilling, demands for my hot glue gun, my new display gadget was presented to me. To say I was a wee bit excited, is a complete understatement. I now am the proud owner of a rotating display "thing". Sorry can't think of a better name.

My new gadget holds 12 cards, ATC's, postcards etc and a further one in a crocodile clip. It now means I can chop and change what I display. Even better, the foot print is relatively small which means I am not taking over my crafting area either. Yippeeeeeee!

Really chuffed to bits that ...
1] I had a crafty play afternoon just for me
2] Hubster made me a wonderful display gadget/unit "thing"

Some days, life is just perfect in it's simplicity. Do you have days like this? Don't they lift the heart, soul & mind?

Right better get back to the mundane chore of "housework". Sadly I don't have anymore excuses or diversions left.

Have a great day & see you all soon,

Lou
