Happy Thursday everyone. I hope you are all well? Today my post is a wee bit different because I'm not actually sharing finished cards with you. Strange I know especially as there is a wonderful new stamping release from Tonic Studios called "Spring Dreams".
RELEASE PARTY
Before I start waffling, this is a release party for the new Spring Garden stamps, and you have probably hopped over from Leanne West. After myself, next in line is Keeway Tsao. Full list of who is taking part is below ...
It is a beautiful selection of 5 A5 limited edition stamp sets designed by Tonia Tkach.
Before I go on about what I have created, the wonderful people at Tonic Studios are giving a whooping 15% off this new release. Discount will apply at checkout. Click the links below ...

I know I normally share finished cards, pages, projects etc with you all but today I thought I'd do something a little different. I thought it would be great for you to get a glimpse in to my creative ramblings. So what do I do when I receive new crafty goodies to play with?
STAMP, STAMP & STAMP SOME MORE
When I receive new stamp sets, I just do that. I stamp them out in lots of different ways. That could be on card fronts, tags or even in my journals.
Now because these are for ME, the pressure of having beautiful pristine images suddenly disappears. I'm not worried about smudges, under or even over stamping. I'm just playing with with no expectations.
We all put pressure on ourselves to create the next masterpiece and sometimes lose sight about why we became hooked on crafting in the first place.
So my advice when you get your stamps "home" ... rip open the packets, grab your blocks & ink pads, then stamp, stamp & stamp some more. Crafty play at it's very best.
PLAY WITH COLOUR
The next thing I do is simply colour. I'll grab a selection of products from water colour pens, pencils, markers ... if fact anything. I'm not trying to create a finished project but actually get lost in the image.
Another thing that I really don't do is follow light or shadow sources. I just colour the way I want to see the image. I really take my hat off to the beautiful colourers out in craft land; seriously amazing, mind blowing colouring. Me, I get bored too quickly & just can't get the "flick thing".
Remember we make cards, journal pages, tags to give to the people we love. They are not worried about all the unseen anxiety we have put on ourselves. They simply love us and love the fact we have made a "one of a kind card" project just for them.
SENTIMENTS
Now I have to confess, I am a sentiment junkie. I love a good sentiment. In fact probably before stamping out the images, I'll actually stamp out the sentiments and have a stock pile ready to use.
Look at your sentiments carefully. Can they be cut up? Can they be masked off? If they can, you have created different ways to use them, and who knows, different sentiments altogether.
MY ADVICE
Just chill, relax, grab a coffee/tea/wine/water/whatever and enjoy your stamps. The quote "dance like no one is watching" works brilliantly for crafting too ...!

SPRING DREAM COLLECTION
After all my ramblings, I haven't shared the new limited edition stamps on offer from Tonic Studios. There are 5 cool stamp sets in the release. Each designed by Tonia Tkach.
They are wonderful, whimsical designs which actually cover a multitude of occasions. I also love the fact that each set comes with a bank of sentiments. These could be puns, motivational or occasion based. Perfect blend of images + sentiments = heaven.
If you buy the complete bundle, it already has 15% off ... then add the 15% discount above and oh my, what a bargain!
FINALLY ...
If you have managed to get all the way to the bottom of this long post, a huge thank you. I have been wanting to do something like this for eons. What better a time than a new release/launch. I really want you all to love your crafting, enjoy the process & go on an adventure with your crafty stash.
Until next time,
Lou
