Polkadoodles Tropical Underworld and Tropical Oceans clear stamps make it to the "keep" pile ...
As part of my craft room plan, I am also going through all my photographs & saved projects. This has been a real trip down memory lane for me. I have re-discovered so many projects. Some were made nearly four years ago and others a few month ago. However, the one thing it has demonstrated to me is some of my craft supplies will never go out of fashion.
Now I love anything seaside, underwater, tropical themed & simply had to share the following projects using Polkadoodles Tropical Oceans & Tropical Underworld clear stamps. These stamps are an example of craft stash never going out of style. Struggled to share so few projects as on my portable hard drive, I found over 30+ projects!
TROPICAL OCEANS & TROPICAL UNDERWORLD
I know I am very lucky as I have worked with Polkadoodles products for the last 10 years & Nikky is very generous with all the goodies she has given me. However hand on heart, if the products were not inspiring, would I still be using them? Thought I'd address the elephant in the room from the start ...
The 2 main stamp sets I'm talking about today, are fabulous A5 stamp sheets: Tropical Oceans has 16 clear stamps & Tropical Underworld has 10 clear stamps. As is always the way with Nikky's stamp sets, the packaging is inspiring, giving fabulous colour guides. The stamp sets were originally released in July 2016 & are still going strong to this day.
MY CARD PROJECTS
I colour the majority of my images with either water colour pens or paints. It's quick & effective plus it works for me. It is tricky as we all want to follow a trend but find what works for you, not other crafters. It will show in your work as your colouring will become more confident.
UPCYCLED BOX
3D PHOTO FRAME
I made this as a present. In fact I made 3 in total. The back opens up and you can place photograph inside. A full "how to" from way back in 2016, can be found here.
ART JOURNAL PAGE
I have recently begun working for & with Royal Talens UK/Sakura UK. They sent me a wonderful selection of water colours, Gelly Roll pens & oil pastels to "play with". Using them, I created the journal page below ... see here
MINI ALBUM & MATCHING NOTEBOOK
This was one of them "why not moments". It actually began after I had created a whole set of different backing designs using the stamps. I didn't want to waste them & though this would be a great way to show them off. Blog post from 2019 here
When looking at all the different items I had made, I was a little shocked. I had not realised how I really, really worked these stamp sets over the last 4 years. My trip down memory lane, has sparked a few new project sketches using these stamps ... so watch this space! The other thing I learned was that I do rather love blue.
The above is just a small selection of the different projects I have made using these clear stamp sets. In fact, I have had to hide them at times because rather than push myself to use other craft items, I can quickly go back to my safe place. I'm giggling now as my poor dad has received quite a few cards featuring these stamps over the last few years. My excuse then & now, is that he lives by the sea ...!
Do you have a favourite stamp set that you always reach for? Please share as I love to see what motivates each and everyone of us.
Until next time,
Lou

UPCYCLED BOX
The upcycled box is a project from 2018. This was an old mobile phone box which was incredibly sturdy. I knew it could with stand mediums, paints, die cuts & probably loads more. You can see more photos here
