Tropical Paradise Colour Trend, Scribble Frames & Centre Piece Sentiments from Tonic Studios + discount codes

Morning everyone. it's not often when it appears that you have created a plan to combine events, when actually it was one of those chance situations. I'm a little chuffed actually because it shows that I really do use my crafty stash & not drag it out on new release days 😏😌

So what have I combined today before I go off on full waffle mode ...Scribble Frames die sets (💖), large Centre Piece Sentiments & the new Tropical Paradise Colour Trend ...

Full details below, along with discount code & giveaway details.

TROPICAL PARADISE COLOUR TREND

Tonic have introduced their new colour trend for the first quarter of 2020 & it lives up to it's tropical name & vibe. My first card using the colour trend, I have used the Scribble Frames, Enjoy the Little Things statement sentiment and lots of goodies from the Tropical paradise release ...

Using stencil & the new Glacier Pastes, I created my background. When changing colours, I wiped away the colour on a scrap piece of card which then created another background. From this background, I have die cut all my Scribble Frame elements & a few leaf background.

The sentiment has been cut from Magnificent Magenta & Inca Gold mirror card. If you look in the photo, you can really see their mirror effect! The leaves are from the Adorable range, Sammy the Sloth; each cut from different card from the new colour trend.

CENTRE PIECE SENTIMENTS

1st project - "Live Every Moment" sentiment

Tonic Studios Live for the Moment sentiment by Lou Sims

I have die cut the sentiment from Craft perfect classic white card numerous times and over laid them on to my background. I did make sure that one of the sentiments was placed in the centre ready for my black card layer.

Using the largest heart from the Scribble Frames - die cut from Craft Perfect Ruby Red mirror card - I added this over the focal point. Next I cut the sentiment again from black card, layering it on top of the white layer.

2nd project - "Enjoy the Little Things" sentiment

Tonic Studios Scribble Frames dies by Lou Sims

For this card, I wanted to show that you don't have to use Christmas stamps at Christmas! I've used the Winter Birds A5 stamp set from Tonic Studios & am quite chuffed with how it has turned out.

1st project

Tonic Studios Celebrate Life Garden Party clear stamps by Lou Sims

This card was made for a card swap held on a friends group, Victoria's Crafty Friends. I have combined the Scribble Frames with Celebrate Life Garden party stamps from Tonic Studios.

All the images have been coloured with Nuvo water colour pencils & then a few white highlights added.

2nd project

Tonic Studios Winter Birds clear stamps by Lou Sims

I have again used the Winter Birds stamps but framed them with a selection of the larger Scribble Frames die cuts. These were cut from white card and coloured with Nuvo Creative pens. I did this to match in with my other stamped elements.

I wanted my card to have a soft winter feel and using the frames has made each of the stamped elements stand out plus they also stand out too. I hope that makes sense ....

CONCLUSION

As I mentioned above, I do use my dies from older collections all the time & love the fact that old mixes seamlessly with the new. I think we are all guilty of jumping on to the newest trend or release & sadly forget the "beauties" we already have.

I hope that my post today inspires you to dig out something from your stash, dust in off and play with it again. So what are you going to "dust off"? Let me know in the comments below.

GIVEAWAY

Ohhhhh, before you go, my giveaway for the Tonic Studios magazine issue #11, is still running until 10th March 2020. All the details can be found on this blog post HERE.

Hope to see you again soon & please do share your crafty projects with me, as I love being inspired by all you wonderful crafters. Leave a link below to your blog, IG account or Pinterest page so I can pop over for a good nose.

Until next time,

I love my scribble frames - especially the circles, I find them the perfect 'go-between' - linking the background and the focus piece.

Love how you've used them in these projects
