Tonic Studios Designer's Choice - Elegant Invite Pocket

The new Designer's Choice Dies from Tonic Studios for this month, have now been released. They are a beautiful set of dies called "Elegant Invite Pocket". Sadly I am suffering with internet issues as BT/OpenReach have decided to dig up most of the roads in our village to "twiddle" with ... goodness knows! This means, I have struggled to upload my video showing how I made this months projects.

Now I have been wanting to try out an idea that I saw on Pinterest for ages & suddenly this month Designer's Choice die set, has given me the opportunity. I have used the dies to create a decorative storage box to hold a selection of beautiful handmade cards.

Designer's Choice, Elegant Invite Pocket die set is available now for immediate dispatch worldwide from the Tonic Studios store.

DECORATIVE BOX

A long while back, I saw a wonderful project on Pinterest - see it here - and I have been wanting to try something similar for eons. This month, I had the perfect opportunity using the beautiful "Elegant Invite Pocket" die set.

I have die cut 4 large pockets in Craft Perfect Bright white & 4 in Craft Perfect Bosenberry purple, layering the die cuts on top of each other. Next I have cut a strip of card 1" wide and have used this to stick my corners in place. I have left one edge open & the opposite side, is my hinge.

Next, to create some stability, I have added a decorative strip in Craft Perfect Bright White. At my opening I have punched holes to thread my ribbon through.

To finish the front of my box, I have created a decorative panel using the smaller pocket die & the "For You" sentiment. I couldn't resist but add some bling using Nuvo Silver Petals gems.

GREETING CARDS

Using the same colours of Craft Perfect card, I have created 3 different styled cards. All have been made using previous envelope die sets from Tonic Studios. I think it's wonderful when we can use our older craft stash with our new purchases.

I decided to use the beautiful pocket detail on all my card fronts cutting this directly in to the card. I have used smaller die cut elements as extra decoration, along with the sentiments included in the collection.

Each card is a different size and size was dictated to me because I chose to use Tonic Studios envelope die sets - Sweet Nothings Treasured Token, Sweet Nothings Surprise Bouquet & Christmas Envelope.

INVITATION BOX or GIFT SET?

I think this idea would work beautifully to create bespoke wedding stationary or alternatively as a beautiful gift set. Either way, the pocket dies create the most delicate, sophisticated box.

I decided to have a hinge and opening on my box, but it could easily be made in to two separate pieces - top & bottom - which slide over the cards inside. It's great when you can change your designs to suit the person you are giving them to.

YOUTUBE VIDEO

Sadly due to my pants internet at the moment, I have struggled to upload my video. When normal services resumes, I will add the video ASAP and add the link to this blog post. So please watch this space ...!

The weekend is here and we have decided to take all the doors down & gloss all the frames ... I am inwardly groaning already but know, it will look 100 times better when we finish. Glossing paint work has to be the sole destroying part of the decorating process for me. Not sure why though but always the part I do dread.

Hope you have a great weekend. Stay safe & well,

Lou
