Ciao Bella Voyages Extraordinaires 12"x12" collection - scrapbook page layout idea
Recently I had the great honour to craft with a selection of Ciao Bella Papercraft paper collections, one being Voyages Extraordinaires. Although the papers have a vintage bygone, travel, steampunk feel to them, I wanted to also show that you could use them with modern photos too to create a scrapbook layout which worked brilliantly mixing the older vibe with the new.
MY PAGE
A wee while back my son Luke's partner Rosie, did a charity sky dive, something she really wanted to do. After the event, she was presented with a memory stick full of photos to remember the day. I've taken a few of these photos to create my page, printing them out in greyscale.
I've taken one of the backing papers and cut it in to strips adding these to my base layer for my scrapbook layout. I also inked over the paper with a heart stencil from Polkadoodles using peeled paint distress ink.
As a final finishing touch, I have added some wee little MDF embellishments covered in Ranger Opaque Crackle Paste. I haven't primed the pieces as wanted the background colour of the MDF to peek through.
Next plan for this scrapbook layout? To find a frame to put it in so I can give it to Rosie. Thought it was a different way for her to remember her mammoth achievement.
VOYAGES EXTRAORDINAIRE
I wasn't so sure I would like this collection when I first received it but after cutting out all the embellishments and they playing with them on the paper designs, I can honestly say, I changed my opinion really quickly. So much so I have gone and bought myself the additional background papers & rice paper. Already started a project with these decorating a wooden chest - watch this space ...!
Do you create scrapbook layouts to display your photos? Any tips would be gratefully received as think this is going to be my new way of 1] making sure I print out my photos more often & 2] displaying them rather than in a blank frame.
Many thanks for popping over today. All your visits & support are truly appreciated.
Until next time,
Lou

After deciding where I wanted to place my photos, I had great fun cutting out all the different embellishment elements from the Ciao Bella Voyages Extraordinaire collection, adding them on and around the photos of my scrapbook layout.
Within the Voyages Extraordinaires you also get a great selection of cool quotes too. I have used 2 that I think went perfectly with my layout.
