Tonic Studios Craft Kit 34 - Art Deco Frames & stamps

Today is the unveiling day for Tonic Studio Craft Kit 34 - Deco Art Frames & it is a wonderful kit. Although it has frames as the title, you actually get 2 sets of beautiful, detailed layering dies ... which also make frames 😀

The kit is full of wonderful bronze, peach/apricot & blue colours which work together beautifully. I decided for my projects to just stick to the bronze & peach/apricot colours ...

FLIP BOOK

Not sure why I thought a flip book would be good idea using the Tonic Studios Craft Kit 34 - Deco Art Frames but I think it was the shape of the frames that made me think this design would show them off perfectly.

The outside covers have been made by measuring the largest die & adding 5mm to each edge. I created a spine only to help make the book shape.

Below are the measurements of the pieces I cut -

• outside covers - 11cm x 14cm - cut 2
• spine - 5cm x 14cm - cut 1 - score at 1.5cm & 3.5cm
• band strip - length of A4 x 2.5cm - cut 1
• flip mechanism - 20.5cm x 13.5cm - cut 1 - fold in half & score away from centre fold line at 1cm,1.5cm, 2cm & 2.5cm.

I have used the size of all the dies to create my measurements adding a few mm either side or even taking a few mm off.

The decorative smaller panels are mounted on to peach/apricot card & have been layered in a staggered pattern.

For the outside, I have created a staggered frame using different depth of 3D foam. I added feathers & flowers as thought it went with the die designs. The ribbon holds everything together.

MATCHING CARD & TAG

As I made a pocket on the inside cover of my book, I thought it would finish the design by making a matching card & tag which could sit within the pocket area. I have kept to the same design(ish) as the front cover of the flip book for each.
