Polkadoodles "Not so Simple" stamp soup collection - Wishing you a Super, Awesome Day

Have you heard about Polkadoodles Stamp Soup collections & stamp sets? If not, you are in for a wonderful voyage of stamping discovery. Nikky Hall created Stamp Soup to allow us the crafter/stamper to become the designer of our projects using a selection of base images or shapes. It is a wonderful concept & incredibly liberating way to create/design.

I had a friend in mind too when creating the card & although this card was made for the last edition of Craft Stamper magazine, (sadly never went to print), it made making the card much easier as it was being made for someone.

Everything has been coloured with my Ecoline pens & I have used the same pens to stamp extra detail too.

"NOT SO SIMPLE" stamp soup collection

This collection is made up of four separate stamp sets & can be bought as a complete collection, or as individuals. As is the way with any of the stamp soup clear stamp sets, they can be combined with other of the stamp sets to create original designs from your ideas.

You can see the complete stamp soup range HERE

MY CARD

I began by creating the house designs using "Not So Simple" clear stamp set with a little bit of masking. I love the way we can become the designer of our houses rather than having pre-arranged designs. I then added a moon or even a sun design behind using "Round the Houses" stamp set.

I also stamped a ledge for my wee birdie to sit on using the wonderful stitched border stamp from "Round the Houses". The cute bird image is from "Birds Together" stamp set & he has been stamped, coloured & cut out & placed on his perch.

Got to be honest at this point and say the bird now looked strange as although he was on his perch, he also looked as if he was doing some weird floating thing. That was probably because I used 3D foam pads. Was feeling a little disheartened at this point so to cheer myself up, I began adding a little extra stamped detail to the background. I used my Ecoline pens straight on to the stamps, spritzed lightly & added to my card.

Now my "light bulb" moment came. Using the film strip stamp from the wonderful "Vintage Ephemera" stamp set, I created myself a border, cutting away the middle sections. I did this for 2 reasons: 1] to hide my bird error & 2] somewhere to add my sentiment/words.

The words are from the "Super Sentiments" clear stamp sets which has 49 separate words to choose from ... I know ... WOW! I decided on my phrase, stamped the words & then cut each out, adding to my card.
