Introducing the ubber cool Weirdre mixed media stamp collection from Polkadoodles

Hello everyone. Hope you are well in these strange times. My goodness it has been a strange 2020 so far; it seems weird not being able to travel to Ireland to see mum but keeping her safe is a priority.

Now gotta say that Weidre has lifted my spirits greatly as it is a fun, bright collection of mixed media stamps from Polkadoodles. The sentiments included are "ace" & help you create quick, quirky projects too. I'm sharing today one of my journal pages that I made on the HOCHANDA show yesterday ...

MY JOURNAL PAGES

Fun ways to use stamps in an art journal

I created these pages in my Dina Wakley 6" x 6.4" media journal as love how my Ecoline pens flow across the page & definitely wanted to use them to create the background. Once dry I used the "Winter Waves stencil" with Pretty Gets Gritty Crackle Gel to create my waves & have to say, love how it turned out - so much texture 💖

Fun ways to use Weirdre clear stamps

With the "Land & Sea stencil" & again Pretty Gets Gritty crackle gel, I created my beach. Adore how the stencil creates the wonderful ripples you see in the sand  especially when the tide has gone out.

To add further interest to the ocean, I have stamped an image from "Hanging Garden" stamp set which I thought looked like a funky, cool buoy you see bobbing about in the sea. On a piece of plain rice paper, I created a background using the "Winter Waves stencil" & Pretty Gets Gritty explosion powders to add another layer of texture to my ocean. Tearing this background in to strips & adding on top of the waves both hides my gluing but adds further interest.

Now to add Weirdre "Ice Cream Changes Everything" to my sea themed background. I have coloured her with Ecoline pens on to Bockingford water colour card, cut her out & added her to my beach scene. She looks perfect standing in the sand eating her ice cream.

Weirdre Ice Cream Changes Everything

Using a wooden stirrer thing, I created my sign post with the sentiment that is part of the Weirdre "Ice Cream Changes Everything" stamp set. Next I used a range of different stamps from the other Polkadoodles mixed media stamps sets to make shells & sea creatures ... well in my head they make cool beach/sea themed accessories 😁

As a finishing touch, I added a few sequins here & there. They add a bit of bling, shine & sparkle.

WEIRDRE MIXED MEDIA STAMPS

Polkadoodles have a fabulous range of mixed media clear stamps which include characters - Weirdre - but also a whole host of accessory stamps. The collection has been designed to work independently but also work together & they cross over seemlessly.

You can see the complete collection HERE or click on photos above.

HOCHANDA TV

You can see the HOCHANDA TV show where I demonstrated how I created the pages on their 30 day rewind service - https://www.hochanda.com/cinema/45544

After the 30 days have expired, you can watch via their YouTube channel  - link below. Wind on to 8:00:00 to see the full Polkadoodles show.

I had a genuine blast playing with all the stamps in Polkadoodles Weirdre collection(s) plus the additional mixed media stamps too & will share all my art journal pages once I can figure out a way to photograph them properly!

Take care everyone & see you all soon,

Lou
