Monsters are not just for Halloween but all year round ...

As a crafter who loves pushing their stash to the very max, it really appealed to that side of me to push my Halloween themed stamps sets as much as possible. I had a blast playing with the adorable monster images & surprised myself as to how easy it was to create cards for all occasions.

I've used Polkadoodles Funky Monsters, Freaky Monsters & Funky Alphabet as the main focal elements on my cards.

HAVE A MONSTER BIRTHDAY

I began by stamping out all my images & letters on to a card mat slightly smaller than a DL card front.

Using Ecoline pens I began adding my colour. I wanted to keep the colours similar to the ones used at Halloween to show that you could still keep to that colour palate but create for a different occasion.

I added the additional "have a" & "birthday" to the card front to complete the whole sentiment, (these are from Polkadoodles Super Sentiments stamp set). As a final finishing touch, I have added glossy accents on all the monsters & "monster" sentiment.

FAB-BOO-LOUS BIRTHDAY

The card above is quite masculine so I thought I'd make my next card a wee bit more feminine.

Using Polkadoodles Sweetheart stencil, I created a subtle background for my images. Next I stamped the "monster" and using the funky alphabet stencil coloured each letter with black soot distress ink.

This time I stamped each of the images individually, coloured with Ecoline pens & cut each out. I've layered them around the main monster sentiment adding additional words to create one sentiment - Have the best ever Fab-boo-Lous Monster Birthday.

HAVE A GRRR-ATE BIRTHDAY

For my final card, I really wanted to have a play with the wording and create a design that could be recreated in lots different colour ways.

I've stamped my wee beauty of a monster twice and layered them up to give extra dimension. I just had to add the glasses as I thought it worked perfectly with the expression.

This time, I have stamped & cut out each of my letters, colouring them with my Ecoline pens. I added my word to the bottom of my panel, adding 3D foam to some letters & gluing others flat.

FUNKY ALPHABET STAMPS

Oh my do I love this stamp set! Really cool shaped letters which are just over 2.5cm/1" in size,, easy to cut out & colour but wait ... they have a matching stencil too!

You can just stamp the letters and either leave as is or even colour yourself but if you add the stencil on top, you can colour your letters a 100 times quicker with a cool funky pattern too.

Now both can be used together but also work separately which makes them even more versatile/flexible. Nikky has these on offer at the moment with a £3.49 discount if you purchase both together - see offer HEREThe deal means you get the stencil for half price!

LITTLE MONSTERS DIGI IMAGES & KITS

Now if stamping isn't your think, Nikky has recreated the monsters as a separate digi kit too. You can purchase them individually - line art or precoloured - or by as a huge bundle. In the big bundle you get 25 different images, & there are one or two different monsters images too, plus papers & a whole host of sentiments.

However, you can buy each of the components separately too.
You can see all the digi alternatives HERE

Fancy a challenge? Have a root through your season themed stamps and see what other occasions you can create using them. I've already dug out some winter themed floral stamps and going to have a play.

Take care everyone & see you all soon,

Lou
