Quick stamped backgrounds to make a gift box with matching cards
Today I'm sharing a project following a Facebook Live where I made quick stamped backgrounds with the same stamps but alternated the colours. Using these backgrounds, I created a gift box housing 4 cards ...
MY PROJECT
I wanted to create quick easy backgrounds using just the two stamps sets from The Timber Boutique but rather than create one large A4 background and cut in to smaller panels, I thought it would be fun to create four separate panels but alternate the colours.
I began by stamping the beautiful script design on all four panels in picket fence distress ink but have only part stamped. Next, using the same stamp, I over stamped with different distress colours: broken china, candid apple, mustard seed & wilted violet.
To "house" all my cards I create a match book style box with a pocket. I recreated background panels - as before - but this time to fit the front and back of the box. I did add an extra stamped detail using peeled paint distress ink. Finally I added ribbon and a sentiment ... oohhh and a few sequins too. Can you tell I do love a sequin or two dozen!
When you untie the ribbon bow & lift the panel, you can see the cards housed beautifully inside the pocket detail. I did decorate this too and also added a decorated panel to wrote a message on - if you wished. The idea of the whole project was to create a gift to send someone as a "Just because" or for any occasion. If repeating this project again, I think I would also part stamp on to the envelopes to add an extra "wow" factor.
FACEBOOK LIVE
The above were made for a recent Facebook Live which I have added to my YouTube channel. This does still have me explaining what I am doing but also chatting to the people who are watching.
THE TIMBER BOUTIQUE
This company is very new to the craft/stamping arena and only launched November 2020. They design their products exclusively for Dreamees . These are large A5 photo polymer clear stamp plates called Script & Flowers in Bloom.
Think that's everything for this post. If you have any questions about my project(s), pop a comment below or message me via the links in my "About Me" page at the top of my blog.
