Doodling ideas to help you create an art journal page using your stash.

 Happy Monday everyone.

Recently I was over on the Bee Crafty Blog sharing a doodling piece using a selection of their stencils as my inspiration & composition. I remembered that I hadn't shared my finished design here on my own blog!

You can see how this piece was created & my ideas in the recent Facebook Live I did on the Crafting Together with All Brands group or alternatively, the live can be found on my YouTube channel. More details below ...

WHERE TO BEGIN?

Doodling or knowing where to start can seem over whelming but if we use supplies that we are already comfortable using, the anxiety slowly melts away. In this instance, I have chosen to work with a selection of Bee Crafty Inkables Easy Frames.

I began by adding my first circle in the bottom corner and slowly worked my way over the page. There is some free hand doodling but 70% of my page design has been created using the Inkables Easy Frames.

Extra background detail created using an Inkables Big One stencil. If you do not want the extra detail, leave this detail out. Only add the pieces you want and like. Simply do want sings to your creative eye.

MY ALMOST FINISHED PROJECT

Why almost? I have finished the colouring but have not as yet, added any wording. That's because I need to "live with the page" for a while to see what words/phrases "sing to my heart".

I've used Ecoline pens to add all the colour. If colours have blended, bonus, if not, they add to the texture/feel of the page. As this is my page, I'm happy with the look & that is what matters. When you create for you, if you are happy with what you have made, that is what really counts. Essentially become lost in the process and not the end result.

To add extra definition. I have used Sakura micron pens in different nib widths. This created bolder lines to stand out  and also subtle detailing that ties the design together.

YOUTUBE VIDEO

I have uploaded the Facebook Live to my YouTube channel where I show lots of different ways to start the composition & also how to harness the different crafting techniques you already have.

Sometimes we think when trying a new craft, we do not already have the skills but this is not the case. We bring the skills & ideas we already have & apply to the new craft we wish to try.

Selfish plug now ... if you are not already subscribed to my YT channel, would adore it if you became a subscriber & hit the notifications button too. I am slowly adding more and more content to my channel from a wide range of crafting styles.

I hope you enjoyed the post & video and ,aybe have grabbed your pens, stencils or dieuts and have started your own doodling masterpiece.

Until next time,

Lou
