Stamping, doodling & oxide backgrounds with Dylusions stamps & stencils by Dyan Reavley
I recently discovered that I have lots of art journal pages that I've created on separate pieces of card & rather than let them become "dog eared" - or in some cases more dog eared - I bought myself a new journal to house them all in.
The page I am sharing today is one I created about 6 months ago during a Facebook Live.
My Art Journal Page
Does it need a title?
The page has been made by stamping on a whole host of oxide ink backgrounds & then cutting out all the different elements.
I've used Dylusions stamps by Dyan Reavley: Maisie Lilly, Curlicues & Foliage Fillers. How cool are the flower & foliage stamps? Love the fluidity & freeness of the designs.
Extra detail has been added using Dylusions Spring Bloom & Stained Glass stencils, oxide inks & a black micron pen.
Now the page hasn't got a title or any wording and here is where I am now stuck ...! Should it have either? HELP!
Creating pages for me should be free with no real agenda, other than the products I have chosen to use but that's then where I become unstuck. Unless I think of something to say, or use a quote as my starting point, I then struggle to add any words/phrases to the page. However my hubby reckons, the page should be what it turns out to be at the end - nothing more, nothing less. Now I think I'm over thinking it ....
Facebook Live
The main body of the page was created during a Facebook Live in a fabulous Facebook Group called Crafting Together with All Brands. I've now uploaded the live to my YouTube channel - warts & all - and you can see how it came about by clicking on the link below ...
Crafting Together with All Brands
Who, what & why happens?
This is a Facebook Group that I can be found regularly doing Facebook lives in and the ethos of the group, is to grab our stash - brand, company, design are not relevant. It's all about using what we have, mixing them together and just create, create & create some more. If you have a free moment, why not pop over and check out all the different creatives & companies who give their time freely to ensure we create & dust off our stash. Click on graphic below ...
Well better get back to cataloguing all my pages & to be honest, I'm actually thoroughly enjoying myself.
Until next time,
Lou
