Mosaic tiled backgrounds & Ciao Bella Chemical Reaction stamps
Today I am sharing a way to create fabulous cards with Ciao Bella Chemical Reaction stamp set using a mosaic tiled style background.
We often make backgrounds using inks & crayons but sometimes they do not turn out as we wished. Sharing an idea how we can "rescue" these backgrounds to create beautiful cards afterwards. In the video, you can see how I created my starting backgrounds using Distress Crayons & all my images have been coloured using Ecoline Brush Pens.
*** All supplies used to create my cards are listed below ***
Card idea #1
Using my mosaic tiles, I began creating my background to fit a 6" x 6" card base. Using the Ciao Bella Chemical Reaction stamp set I stamped out the main image & layered it on to the card front. Next, I stamped out lots of the symbol squares, cutting them out & adding in a collaged fashion. Finally I added the sentiment - one of two from this stamp set - & a few punched hearts.
After creating this card, I had loads of the mosaic tiles pieces left & rather than "bin them", I made a further card, A6 in size. The same stamped images are used but by adding the different sentiments - included in the stamp set - the look of the cards has changed too.
I've finished the cards with some sequins and glossy accents to highlight the coloured liquid/gas in the glass containers.
Card idea #2
Using the same idea for creating my background, I changed both the colour & added the mosaic pieces on to a large heart die cut using Creative Nested Primitive Hearts die set.
I have kept the colours more in keeping with a coffee vibe & mounted the final finished piece on to a kraft card base. I have stamped the card base with one of the background stamps, adding glossy accents. It really show cases the Ciao Bella Chemical Reaction stamp set in a totally different way.
Card idea #3
For my final card, I wanted to see if the same idea would work on a shaped card. I decided to use Sue Wilson Noble Collection Double Stitched die set to create both my base card & also the layer to add my mosaic tile pieces to.
I love the shape as it allowed me to spread the stamped images out further across the design. I also used more of the smaller stamped elements from the Ciao Bella Chemical Reaction stamp set.
