Spellbinders Bibi's Butterflies - 3 different ways
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy did I have great fun getting back in to my die cutting. I had the privilege to be create with the NEW Spellbinders So Many Butterflies Etched Dies from Bibi's Butterflies Collection.
Today I am sharing 3 different ways I used the So Many Butterflies layering dies to create 2 cards & a butterfly shaped mini book/junk journal.
Spellbinders Bibi's Butterfly Collection
This is the very first collection from Bibi Cameron for Spellbinders and the collection includes:
Butterfly Mini Book &/or Junk journal
This was my first project I made when I received the dies and I knew what I wanted to do straight away. The ability to create frames as well as layers, was simply perfect with the So Much More Layering Dies.
I created the butterfly outside covers by die cutting into Dolly Dimples Crafts Dolly Board. I did cover both sides of the Dolly Board with backing papers from Shady Designs Clean Inkings Card & paper Kit.
Next the fun part ... die cutting lots of different page shapes & designs. This was from a range of papers & vellums. I think I must have cut every size from the So Much More Layering dies plus made frames of all sizes too.
I die cut so many pages that I created 2 signatures for my mini book/junk journal. These have been kept in place with elastic ties. Why elastic? This way I can add to the pages if I wish or take pages out when I work on them.
As a way of disguising the elastic, I have captured the ends between 2 of the smaller butterfly die cuts.
Now to decorate some of the pages. I did not want to decorate them all as this now makes it a project I can keep revisiting.
I'm sharing only a few of the pages but will do a longer blog post on this book, sharing more of the details and how to create it.
7" x 5" card design
For this design, I was actually inspired by the smaller bits of paper & card I had left over from my Butterfly Book. Simple mat and layering of different square pieces placed on to the front of the card.
Once happy with the design, I added my Bibi's Butterflies So Many Butterflies die cuts in different sizes.
5" x 5" card design
For this card, I simply just had to keep to the colour way from the previous two projects and wanted to make the butterfly the focal piece.
I have die cut the butterfly multiple times, from different papers, in different sizes too. Next I layered all the die cuts and added a body. For texture, I have added some hessian & twine.
There really is no end to the projects you can create with these dies - Bibi's Butterflies So Much More Etched die set. To see the full collection from Bibi Cameron, pop over to Spellbinders HERE.

Lou
