Crafting Together With All Brands YouTube Hop #3 - Summer Vibes

Another month has passed and it is time again to share the latest YouTube Hop collaboration for Crafting Together with All Brands. Each month a group of different creatives from a range of different brands/companies, come together to create YouTube videos around one theme.

The theme this month is Summer Vibes and I decided to create an art journal page taking inspiration from the mood board ...

Mood board

A mood board gives you a leaping off point and are fabulous tools to use when our mojo decides to disappear. The mood board shows colours to be incorporated; use some of them or combine them all. If you do not have all the colours in your stash, just use the colours you have.

Mood boards also give images linked to the theme and that can help when considering the type of design you want to create. Seeing an image can spark an idea which a colour may not do.

For me, it was the colours that sang to me and the deck chair image - although I didn't use a deck chair! Luckily I had similar oxide ink pads which worked a treat.

This month we have a wonderful group of creative souls taking part. Each of us have used the mood board and theme to create a project we think fits. Each person has a different skill set and because of this, you will see oodles and oodles of inspiration just using this one theme. As there is such a diverse range of creatives taking part, it also means you can see lots of different materials being used too.

My Art Journal Page

I knew as soon as I saw the mood board which stamps & images I wanted to use straight away. Being honest, sometimes that doesn't happen and I flounder a little. For this video, everything just seemed to flow!

I began by creating my background using Dolly Dimples Crafts Layering Stamps and oxide inks. next I added extra stamped detail using Shady Designs Texture Stamps - my range (gulp!). To blend everything in, I then used Shady Designs Moroccan Trellis stencil.

Most of the stamped images I have used are from Dolly Dimples Crafts Diva's in Disguise range. I am using Janis. She has been coloured with Phill Martin's Colour Radiance alcohol pens. I am using Silky Smooth Card from Phill Martin which has been designed for alcohol markers - it is ACE!

After colouring everything, I began sticking them in to place and faffing with the composition. For me, the faff stage is probably my favourite part as I get to really play around with all the images.

The sentiment is from a paper collection from Dolly Dimples Crafts and thought it worked brilliantly with all the images.

Crafting Together with All Brands

This is a thriving Facebook Community where the ethos is to use all your craft stash together regardless of who made it. Regular Facebook Lives are held by craft industry personalities, brands & brand ambassadors. It is such a relaxed group that wants everyone to create, create and create some more.
