Ciao Bella Paper Sparrow Hill Collection - circle card ideas

The Sparrow Hill Collection from Ciao Bella Paper is just one of those collections that crosses over to all types of crafting styles: memory books, mixed media projects, art journal pages and of course, cardmaking. I have made previous cards with the collection but really wanted to challenge myself this time and create circle cards with the collection.

Home Sweet Home

In all the Sparrow Hill Collection whether papers or stamps, you get lots of different sentiments. As I said earlier, the sentiments also work for all styles of crafting. For this card I decided to make a new home card.

I have used the Rosebush stencil with embossing ink and then added a gold sparkle embossing powder. It really does change the look of the stencil design altogether.

I have cut out lots of different elements from 8" x 8" papers plus some extra pieces from 6" x 6" Fussy Cut Pad. I cut out my ephemera pieces with a white border because I feel it makes each then stand out.

I have used 3D foam pads to raise some of the elements and where I saw gaps, tucked smaller decorative pieces in those gaps. The grey colour of the sentiment adds a soft feel. I believe to the card.

Everyday is a Fresh Start

For this circle card, I have used lots of the beautiful tulip images which gives the card a wonderful Spring feel. The background was made using the left over embossing ink on the Rosebush stencil from the above card.

I placed the stencil on my circle base layer and ran them through my die cutting machine using the embossing sandwich. Again I added a gold sparkle embossing powder.

I added a little lace ribbon as another layer to the card, although by the time I dded everything, not much of it now shows! I added the tulips to the front and back of the wooden trough image as wanted it to look "full".

As before the images have been raised with 3D foam pads to create depth. I added the heart and clock images as felt the composition needed extending as looked unfinished before!

Enjoy this day

The background piece for this card has again used the Rosebush stencil but this time through my die cutting machine - using embossing sandwich. Keeping the stencil in place, I added colour with distress ink.

As a further textural element, I added a little lace & then a hessian ribbon. Using all the remaining elements I had cut out I added them to my card front. I have kept some flat and others raised with 3D foam pads.

I wanted to use the numbers I had cut out somehow, so added them amongst the flowers. I think that they actually work and do not look to out of place - fingers crossed.
