Zig Zag Accordion Album featuring Ciao Bella Paper Sparrow Hill Collection - Part 1

Today I am sharing a Zig Zag Accordion Album made using Ciao Bella Paper Sparrow Hill Collection. The base shape was created following a tutorial from the talented album maker extraordinaire Cal Summers.

I have split my blog post over 2 posts because there are lots of photos to share with you. In this post I am sharing from the front cover to page 8.

Front Cover

The front cover is the smallest page in the Zig Zag Accordion Album and measures 10cm x 11.5cm. It has a pocket which I have placed some decorative tags inside.

This photo shows how the Zig Zag Accordion Album looks from the top. You can see al the different sized staggered pages.

Photo above shows how the album looks from the side when opened out like an accordion. This is a little glimpse of all the pages to come.

Page 1 & 2

On page 1 have I created a pocket. This has been made using the strips of kraft card left over from creating the album. There are several 3.5" x 3.5" photo mounts tucked inside.

On Page 4, I have created a belly band and added some extra photo mounts. These will also fit in the opposite pocket but also in the pocket made for the front cover.

Page 3 & 4

Page 3 has a hidden drop down page which holds 4 photos. Everything is held in place with magnets.

The drop down pocket has been decorated with sentiments from A4 Creative Pad and different elements from the 6" Fussy Cut Papers.

Page 4 has a pocket element. Again made using left over strips of kraft card from making the Zig Zag Accordion Album. Photo mounts have been added which will hold 3.5" x 5" photos.

Page 5 & 6

For these pages, I have made pockets, again from strips of left over kraft card. They are to hold photo mounts, mini books and anything else I can find ...!

Now the 12" Patterned Pad has the most beautiful house shaped toppers. I created a mini photo book using the topper as my template. You can a full close up in the walkthrough video.

Page 7 & 8

These are the back two pages and the largest in the Zig Zag Accordion Album. Page 7 has another pocket and the front has been decorated with toppers from A4 Creative pad & elements from 6" Fussy Cut Papers.

The band on Page 8 holds a flip out concertina pages to hold 3.5" x 5" photos. They have been rotated to have decorative pieces at either the top or bottom.

You can display/add five 3.5" x 5" photos in total. All the decorative embellishments are using different images from 6" Fussy Cut papers.

The flap that holds everything in place is decorated with 2 toppers from A4 Creative pad and held in place with a magnet.

Walkthrough Video

I have created a walkthrough video showing the album off. It shows how it opens and also how you can work in the album on a flat surface. You can also see lots of the additional accessory elements I have added too: photo mounts, mini books, tags etc.

Cal Summers is a superb album maker and shares her skills via workshops and free Facebook Live events. I have used one of her tutorials to create my Zig Zag Accordion Album but added my own twists to the pages.

Ciao Bella Paper Sparrow Hill Collection

To create my album I used two 12"x12" backing papers from Sparrow Hill Pattern Pad. Just using these 2 papers, I covered all the backgrounds.

Next using toppers and tags from the A4 Creative pad, I made photo mounts, mini books, decoration for belly bands or closures.

All my additional decoration has been made using the 6" x 6" Fussy Cut Papers.

At the moment as this is a new collection, there are limited places to buy the collection HOWEVER I do know that there is a shop on Amazon called Susie B Supplies who supply a huge range of Ciao Bella Paper Collections.
