Crafting Together with All Brands YouTube Hop #5 - For the Boys

At the start of each month, I join together with a wonderful, talented group of creatives/makers for a YouTube Vlog Hop. We all work to the same theme, each bringing our own spin. The them for this month is "For the Boys" ...

I have made 3 cards for this YouTube Vlog Hop each using the same colours but slightly "tweaked" to suit the shape of the card.

Crafting Together with All Brands

Crafting Together with All Brands or C2WABs is a Facebook Group which positively encourages everyone to use their crafting stash regardless of brand. Mix your brands together and have fun creating. The crafters collaborating on this YouTube hop are companies & individuals that regularly create Facebook Live content for the group members.

My projects

For my cards I really wanted to show how by using stencils you can create a layered background quickly and easily. I am using my Shady Designs stencils with salvaged patina and rusty hinge oxide inks. Each background is created in a similar way but by changing the size of the card base, the design looks completely different.

Card #1

Pulling apart and layering up your die cuts in different patterns makes them go a lot further. Also colour your die cuts with your stencils too.

I finished the card by adding different metal embellishments that I have had for eons. In fact I was quite chuffed with myself that I found a way to use my hoarded bits (lol).

Card #2

This is an A5 card and I felt it was missing something. I added to metal tab pieces with brads to the sides and I now think it frames the Happy Birthday die cut.

I tend to die cut from white or cream card and then colour the die cuts. This way I can colour co-ordinate all my layers to my project.

Card #3

For this DL sized card, I have layered the die cuts so that you can see more of the background. Again metal embellishments have been added which ties all 3 cards together.

As a final finishing flourish, which I did on all 3 cards, I added some long lost discovered treasure - Letraset alphabet sheets! Now these are eons old, in fact I dread to think how old. It was great fun to use them again and now rediscovered, you'll be seeing them a whole lot more.
