 Deep breath time ... I bit the bullet and created a workshop using my Shady Designs stamps & stencils.

Inspired by a Background ...

Shady Designs came about because I wanted to create a set of stamps that made the background for you in one or two goes. They are not decorative stamps per say but just background builders. I wanted them to be your first step in building your own layered backgrounds with minimal products and also, more importantly, minimal steps.

The background 

We begin the workshop by creating an A4 landscape background using inks, Shady Designs Gather Together stamp set & Angle Leaf stencil. The background is created in real time.

The skills shown in the workshop would work with other Shady Designs stamps or stencils too. This is because all the stamps have been designed to create quick, achievable backgrounds.

Card ideas

Using the background we created as inspiration, we then create 3 different cards: DL, 6"x6" & A6. We also embellish the cards using the stencil and stamps.

At the the embellishment stage, bring in other crafty bits you have that work with your finished cards.

WORKSHOP details

The workshop is pre-recorded in a private Facebook Group. Once the workshop has been purchased, an email will be sent with a link to the group. Please do allow up to 48 hours to receive the email. Follow the question prompts to enter.

Why pre-recorded? I find that when I try and craft along with someone, I become frustrated if I cannot keep up. This way you can stop and start each video at a pace that suits you.

The workshop is split in to 3 videos with approx 2.5 hours tuition for the price of £10.00. I have kept the price as keen as possible as this is my first individual workshop, so it's a bit of a learning curve for me too.

Supplies:

• A4 card x2 - I am using Dolly Dimples Crafts Mixed Media card
• Inks of choice - I am using distress oxides. If you do not have the same colours, work with colours you are confident using.
• blending tools of choice
• stamp blocks/slims/platform
• black ink pad - I am using Versafine Clair but other inkpads would work too
• card blanks: DL, 6"x6" & A6
• sentiments of choice - I amusing Shady Designs sentiment sheets
• finishing embellishments (if wanted) eg: gems, sequins etc
• trimmer & scissors
• glue & 3D foam
