Shady Designs Angle Leaf stencil - quick card making ideas

I love using stencils in many different ways and not just to create backgrounds. I'm sharing two ideas today using Shady Designs Angle Leaf stencil to create both backgrounds and also card embellishments.

Details about how I made my cards can be found below ...

Happy You Day

I began by making my background using a mix of twisted citron & peeled paint oxide inks. I have tried to embrace the white space on my card so that the leaf design from Shady Designs Angle Leaf stencil stands out.

Next I stamped some flowers and leaves from Shady Designs Hanging Around stamp set and colored with picked raspberry & peeled paint. To place these images, I stamped some extra detail using small stamp elements from Shady Designs Sur-Round stamp set. I have kept to the same ink colours as before.

The sentiment is from Shady Designs Paper & Card Kit 1. I placed this in the centre of my card and then added the flower + leaf elements.A simple mat layer using black card was added which then was placed on to a 7" x 5" card base.

It's a good day to be happy.

I began by die cutting two circles and on the larger I stamped Shady Designs Gather Together main focal image. Using mowed lawn & squeezed lemonade, I coloured this circular panel. I stuck this to the centre of my 7" x 5" card base.

I added another die cut circle edging it in squeezed lemonade. On another piece of white card, I stenciled some of the larger leaves from Shady Designs Angle Leaf stencil using mowed lawn and cut them out. Starting from the centre, I placed my leaves in a diagonal pattern.

Stamping the small flower from Shady Designs Hanging Around in squeezed lemonade, I coloured and cut them out placing them amongst the leaves. The sentiment is again from Shady Designs Card & Paper Kit 1.

The cards were quick to make and come together. Probably the longest part was cutting out all the floral elements.

What different ways do you use stencils in your crafting? I would love to see your ideas; drop me a link in the comments so I can come by and visit.

Until next time, take care & happy crafting,

Lou
